On 2 August 2018 the academics of the Centre for Lifelong Learning of JDU together with the students of the Institute of Foreign Languages of JDU said their farewells to a group of 13 students and their teachers from Ningbo University (China) who had been participating in a summer exchange programme at our University. The closing ceremony was also attended by dr hab. inż. prof. UJD Zygmunt Bąk, Vice-Rector for University Development.
For almost two weeks, the visiting guests were provided with educational and cultural experiences, exploring the very nature of Częstochowa and its region (visits to Jasna Góra Monastery, Museum of Iron Ore Mining, City Art Gallery, Kraków, ‘Wieliczka’ Salt Mine, and trips to Kraków-Częstochowa Upland: Kraków, Olsztyn, Mirów, Bobolice). The participants took part in a tailor-made sixty-hour course of the English language, business & culture, and together with the JDU students got involved in a joint project on educational systems in China and Poland.
We hope this first journey our Chinese friends as well as our students and staff embarked on will leave them with unforgettable experiences. We already look forward to the next meeting.
