The Summer School of the Polish Language and Culture is taking place at JDU this summer, giving a group of students from around the world truly unique learning opportunities. This educational project is led by dr K. Czajkowski (Institute of Polish Studies of JDU), who was also in charge of all the previous Summer Schools held at JDU.
On August 7 the Faculty of Philology and History of JDU in Częstochowa opened its doors to the Summer School that will run until August 25. During the Opening Ceremony, the Rector of Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, dr hab. Anna Wypych-Gawrońska, prof. AJD and the Dean of the Faculty of Philology and History of JDU, dr hab. Agnieszka Czajkowska, prof. AJD welcomed the international guests in their opening addresses.
This year the 45 visiting students from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the UK, Belgium, Czech Republic and China are enjoying educational aspects of the programme alongside a wide range of activities. Apart from the tailor-made courses which immerse their participants in the Polish language, the students have the chance to absorb new influences, experience the cultural and historical enrichment as well as the very nature of Częstochowa and its region, and meet like-minded people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.
