The collaborative art exhibition Kafka – przełamywanie granic (Kafka – breaking the boundaries) opens to the public at the Zamek Gallery in Reszel from July 22.
This international project, initiated by prof. Zbigniew Bajek from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków, brings together the works of the academics and artists from universities in Poland, Germany (Bonn) and Czech Republic (Ostrava). The Institute of Fine Arts of JDU in Częstochowa is represented by Krystyna Szwajkowska, Anna Glińska-Kupczyk, Żaneta Wojtala, Zdzisław Wiatr (Chair of Graphic Arts), Jarosław Kweclich, Dariusz Słota, Adam Rokowski (Chair of Painting).
The exhibition, which will run until September 17, gathers together about 150 black and white original works in diverse media, including paintings, photographs and installations, that feature aphorisms by Franz Kafka portrayed through the eyes of the artists.
Among the exhibits on display there are also 40 portraits of Kafka himself which perfectly complement the works of visual statements.
