FR ANDRZEJ PRZYBYLSKI & HIS NOMINATION!

 We are proud to announce that Father Andrzej Przybylski, a graduate of the JDU, a long-standing staff member of the Faculty of Pedagogy of our Alma Mater and a former Pastor of the Student Parish in Częstochowa, has been appointed Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Częstochowa.

 On May 19 2017 at Warsaw Book Fair dr hab. Danuta Gibas-Krzak from the Institute of Social Sciences and Security received the Professor Jerzy Skowronek Award granted to balkanists for her work entitled: 'Bośnia i Hercegowina: determinanty dziejów. Pomiędzy Serbami Chorwatami a supremacją Muzułmanów.'

Stanisław Podobińki Publishing House of the JDU was also awarded for the publication of the above-mentioned book.

PICNICKING THROUGH THE PAST

 The Society of the Garrison of the Jasna Góra Fortress (Stowarzyszenie Garnizon Fortecy Częstochowskiej), the City Council of Częstochowa and the Polish Historical Society (Częstochowa branch) are pleased to invite to the 4th celebration of the 18th century history, culture and warfare ‘Piknik XVIII-wieczny w Parku Staszica’ - an event that provides a unique opportunity to see a piece of the 18th century life: with the presentation of the Polish Army, figures, fashion, music and dance of that time.

The event will be held in a picturesque park at the foot of Jasna Góra Monastery (Stanisław Staszic Park in Częstochowa) on May 20 from 10 am to 5 pm, with:

- a drill of the Garrison of Jasna Góra Monastery at 12 pm

- a concert of 18th century music at 1.30 pm

- a show of 18th century dance with live music at 3pm

COLLABORATION WITH ACADEMY IN SANOK

 On 9 May 2017, the Rector of the Jan Długosz University of Częstochowa, dr hab. Anna Wypych Gawrońska, prof. AJD concluded a cooperation agreement with the Rector of the Jan Grodek State Vocational Academy in Sanok, doc. dr Elżbieta Cipora. The collaboration agreement makes provision for joint academic initiatives and activities between the two Institutions in the areas of consultancy (the quality and relevance of the universities’ programmes and curricula), education and research on innovation and enterprise. 

It is important to note that the academics of the JDU, especially dr hab. Urszula Ordon, prof. AJD (Institute of Pre-School and School Education, Faculty of Pedagogy) have been actively cooperating with the JGSVA for many years now. 

JDU ARTISTS IN KOSZĘCIN

 The academics of the Department of Painting (Faculty of Art) are pleased to invite the JDU community to an exhibition of their artwork. The event is scheduled for May 19 2017 in Koszęcin, Zamkowa 3 at 6 pm (the main office of Śląsk Song and Dance Ensemble - Zespół Pieśni i Tańca "Śląsk"). The exhibition will be accompanied by the Vocal Quartet of the Institute of Music under the direction of Przemysław Jeziorowski.

SILKSCREEN PRINTING WORKSHOPS & EXHIBITION

 From March to May 2017, Professor Marek Sibinsky of the Faculty of Arts from the University of Ostrava conducted a series of workshops on silkscreen printing techniques for the students of the Department of Graphic Arts. All the works created during the meetings have been displayed at the Institute of Fine Arts, Dąbrowskiego 14, Częstochowa.
